FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

how do i book a session?

Great question! First things first. Before booking your photo session or event, you must schedule a consultation. This is a wonderful time for us to meet, collaborate, and develop a plan to serve your photography needs.

My brand new Consultation Booking site is NOW OPEN! Click on the CONSULTATIONS page in the main menu. When you're ready, you'll choose either a Photo Session or Event Photography Consultation, select a date/time on my calendar, and complete a short questionnaire. It's simple and easy, and it cost nothing to meet! I hope to work with you soon!

For all inquiries, follow the link below to complete the Contact Form. You may also email me directly at photosessions@latoyarenee.com. You can expect to receive a response the same day, or within 24 hours.

Is a deposit required?

For all bookings, there is a non-refundable $50.00 Retainer Fee required to reserve your photo session date. You have up to 3 days to complete your booking after invoicing.

If you are interested in a studio session, a portion of your photography fee will be collected in advance to cover your studio reservation. It's a very easy step in the process and will be explained in detail during your consultation.

What can you tell me about your studio?

I work out of an awesome studio in Alexandria, VA. Photos of the studio will be available on my website very soon! I typically schedule a pre-session visit to the studio for a mini-planning consultation.

Studios are equipped with an array of photography lighting and supplies. Amenities include a private changing room, beauty vanity, and a variety of set props to arouse your creativity.

Your studio photo session date and time are subject to studio availability. It's important to schedule at least 2 months in advance. Your studio session includes a 2-hour reservation. Additional time can be reserved at an hourly rate, if there is availability.

In the event of cancellation, the studio fee can be refunded ONLY if 2-weeks+ notice is provided. Unfortunately, if your request to cancel is provided in less than 2 weeks of your session date, then the studio fee is non-refundable.

NOTE: Arriving picture-ready will be in your best interest to ensure you have optimal time for your photo session.

what if i need to reschedule?

Hey, life happens! YES, you absolutely can reschedule your photo session.

Keep in mind, you must reschedule at least 2 weeks prior to your booked date/time. In doing so, your Retainer Fee will be credited to your rescheduled photo session.

If you're unable to provide advanced notice in the required time, a second Retainer Fee will be required to book the rescheduled photo session.

What cities/states do you serve?

I proudly serve the local DMV area, but I love to travel and am open to traveling for your special occasion. Depending on the location, travel expenses may be added to your portrait package.

Do you shoot events?

I surely do! I only book a few events a year, so act fast! :) Let's set up a consultation to discuss your photography needs, and I will make sure I am the right photographer for the job!

Do you shoot weddings?

The short answer is no... or, at least not at this time. I have the utmost respect for wedding photographers and the teams that support them. I know from experience that Wedding Photography requires passion and a team! I may, possibly, potentially, eventually, one day explore it more in the future. :) Hey, you never know!

do you photograph newborns?

Not specifically. I am not a Newborn Photographer by trade, nor do I have a studio dedicated to this specialty. However, I have experience with newborns and will gladly accept your sweet bundle of joy as a client, so long as Mom/Dad takes advantage of a Family Portrait Package. I'm here whenever you're ready to capture those precious moments together, as a family. :)

What's the turnaround time to receive my photos?

I know how it is to have your photo shoot and then wait excitedly to get your photos back. So, I like to provide at least a few sample images to each client within a week from your session date.

More specifically...

Clients who invest in Personality or Senior Portraits can expect the post-production of your portrait collection to be completed in 14-21 days.

Clients who invest in Family Packages, or custom packages with add-on services, can expect the post-production of your portrait collection to be complete in 4-5 weeks.

Clients who invest in Event Photography packages can expect the post-production of your photo collection to be complete in 4-6 weeks. Previews of your event may be available within 1-2 weeks.

My number one goal is to give you a premium quality product and THAT takes time. A "second number one" goal is to get your photos to you as soon as possible! Your patience in the process is greatly appreciated.

Printed photo products require 1-2 business days for order processing and an additional 3-5 days for shipping. Specialty orders may require additional time. All delivery times will be provided by the printing lab.

Note: Shipping rates are based on the size and quantity of the products.

How have you addressed concerns with COVID?

First and foremost, I am vaccinated and received the most recent COVID Booster (as of Jan. 2024). In response to the COVID pandemic and other relentless viruses that continue to impact our health and public gatherings, I/we should continue to take precautions being considerate of one another, whether indoors or outdoors. I come to work prepared with face masks and will do my best to ensure your comfort and safety.

If you are already booked with me and become symptomatic or recently tested positive, please contact me directly to discuss your options for rescheduling.
